Museu das Minas e do Metal, also known as MMM, is a Brazilian museum
located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It’s a good, beauty and interesting
place to visit, because has amazing rooms and all of them has name and
description in English, so it’s prepared for all kind of tourists who knows a
bit of the world language. The museum uses technology to show the universe of
rocks, the processes of transformation of minerals and their importance to
human life and social development, economic and cultural. It’s divided into two
parts: one for the mines and one for the metals. In this video you can do a

Mines Part
Mines part presents seven rooms:
· Land of Stars
(Chão de Estrelas): It’s an upside down
planetarium which has telescopes point towards the ground magnifying the
minerals
· Mirages (Miragens):This
room uses a game of mirrors and reflections, for the minerals in exhibition
seem to be at hand’s reach

Mines (Na Sala das Minas)
· Mineral Inventory
(Inventório Mineral): Presents over than 450 samples, including selected
minerals, gems and meteorites, divided into 63 showcases, which 20 of them show
curiosities and physical properties of minerals through videos and audios.
· Environment (Meio
Ambiente): Shows through holograms the consumption of minerals and natural
resources of a mine.
Metals Part
Metals part presents nine rooms:
- ·Atoms Table (Mesa dos Átomos): Presents an interactive periodic table which the visitors can manipulate and combine the elements
- · Periodic Table (Tabela Periótica)
- · Alloys and Compounds (Ligas e Compostos)
- · Windows to the World (Janelas Para o Mundo): Shows through videos the human use of metals in arts, transport, telecommunications, wars, cities, robotics and others.
- · Sharp Tongue (Língua Afiada)
- · Vile Metal (Vil Metal): This room enables the comparison of metals with others products at different epochs
- · Logistics (Logística): Through an interactive model, this room presents the logistics operations of a mine, from extraction to marketing.
- · Magic Mirror (Espelho Mágico): As the name implies, it’s a mirror which the visitors are able to adorn herself with electronics jewels of various antique civilizations.
- · Value by Weight (Vale Quanto Pesa): It’s an amazing scale which measures the average quantity of each metal in your body.
